FINALLY I am posting some homemade knits. I feel like I've been talking about knitting forever without any result! I started knitting in August while my grandpa was in the hospital. It has now become one of my favorite past times. For Christmas gifts I got really ambitious and made 15 dishcloths for the girls in my family. It was a great way to learn and try out new stitches. After making 15 I doubt I'll ever make another dishcloth again but it was fun while I made them.
I also knitted my good friend Abby, over at the Turquoise Penguin a wool/acrylic blend scarf with a large cable stitch. Cabling is so much fun to do once you get the hang of it. I made a 100% wool one for myself for practice. I like Abby's so much better because its much lighter and drapes a lot nicer. I make another for myself, we will see!
My next big projects are baby booties, baby blankets, and possibly an afghan for myself. Keep checking in!Labels: DIY, gift, knits, knitting
